Dell New Inspiron R series
Dell launched their new laptop series “R” under Inspiron model.
There are some basic new features are:
- A newly designed 15.6″ widescreen HD display.
- With Intel CoreTM i3 and i5 processors
- Premium brushed finish and vibrant colors options.
This laptop comes under a price tag of 35,900(According to Dell official website).
Now if check out its configuration then it comes out to be a very decent configuration under very affordable price tag.

So this is the default configuration by Dell. You can customize this also and can have option of changing the LCD cover and upgrading to Windows 7 home premium 64 bit edition at the additional cost of 628 and 1729 (This is the new symbol of Indian currency) respectively.
As soon as we gave this laptop a try, we got a kick that if you want to use function keys (F1-F12) then you need to press Fn key on the keyboard because all these are dedicated to wifi, Bluetooth and multimedia. So we didn’t find this very comfortable. Mostly people use alt + F4 combo for closing an active window, now you need to press alt + Fn + F4 for the same.
Now we will talk about some plus point of this laptop, first among them is that it has a dedicated numpad, which gives you comfort of calculation and playing with numbers. One more plus is the metallic look of this laptop, which makes it a classy piece.
Now we come to the performance and battery backup, performance wise it is good laptop and same is the battery backup but our earlier experience with Dell, never left an opportunity to say that its battery is good in long run. After some time Dell’s batteries performance drastically degrades.
Apart these point we will say that it’s a good laptop under affordable price tag.
