Garmin Ltd leading manufacturing company that develops consumer, aviation and marine technologies for the GPS, has come out with an astounding watch, or might we say, device that looks like a watch. The Forerunner 405 GPS-enabled fitness device has a circular display with an easy-to-read screen. Dan Bartel of Garmin said, “Runners no longer have to choose between fashion and function“.

During a run, this sleek and slim watch tracks distance covered, the runner’s pace, calories burnt and displays all the information on the screen. You just have to tap or slide your finger around the innovative touch screen to change information or display information you need. In line with its fashionable look, the Forerunner 405 comes in a choice of either green or black. There are also versions with or without a heart monitor and customized for the North American, European and the Pacific regions. Now, is that cool or what??

Some features supported by the device are automatic sync and unit-to-unit transfer. The foot pod can also be used to gather speed and distance information indoors. ANT Sport wireless technology automatically transfers workout data to and from your computer when your device is within range. No cables required!!! Users can upload data to Garmin Connect, a web-based application that lets them analyze, share and store workout sessions. It supports 5 heart rate zones, zone training and heart rate zone training.

There’s no need to worry about showers on your training run, the Forerunner 405 is water-resistant (IPX7 – accidental immersion protection). If you don’t have a training partner, the watch will provide one in the form of the Virtual Partner whose pace is adjustable.
