LG Chocolate BL40 – the second generation LG Chocolate!!

Well, look who’s out with another beautiful baby. Amongst loads of rumours and leaks about LG releasing the second version of the spectacularly popular Chocolate phone, it has been confirmed that the all new LG Chocolate BL40 will be fully unveiled in August!!

LG Electronics, the South Korean mobile phone maker that had announced some time earlier that it aims at becoming the second largest cell phone vendor in the world, also revealed a few days ago that it proposed to bring back to the market, one of the most successful mobile phone brands it has produced as yet – the LG Chocolate.

This generation of the phone will become the first of its kind with a 21:9 aspect ratio display. The model number is BL40 (fourth handset in the Black Label Series), which features a 800×345 screen resolution, a 3 inch display, a 5 megapixel camera and also includes 7.2 mbps HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) which is an enhanced 3G mobile telephony communications protocol. Its promotional video has been released on YouTube.

In addition to the above mentioned specifications, other features of this sleek and glamorous accessory include LG’s in house Active Flash UI and Wi-Fi.

In terms of usability, the ultra wide screen is the obvious attraction, but the OS will be a equally important factor. Combined with the promise of a multi touch glass capacitive touchscreen. The screen images are sure to inspire confidence exhibiting smoothness, thoughtful navigation and an eye and finger friendly user interface. Although, speculations are still on as to how powerful an OS it will support.

Just to remind you, the original Chocolate phone was launched in May 2006 and LG reports that it has become its most popular handset since then. The Chocolate was awarded the Red Dot Design and if Design awards in 2006, which came as a recognition of its design innovation. Besides this device, the company’s Black Label Series also includes the LG Shine and the LG Secret, handsets also available in a wide range of markets all over the world. The new Chocolate will decorate the shelves in August, the company says, while also adding that more details will become available in the meantime.
